HELP |
Octopus, also known as Oriental Octopus and Tailspinner, was a Polyp built by US manufacturer Eyerly Aircraft Company previously located at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Following its removal from Worlds of Fun, it was sent to Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota, USA to be used as spare parts for Monster.[1]
History
Oriental Octopus opened with Worlds of Fun in 1973. It was relocated within the park in 1983, renamed Tailspinner, and repainted a new multi-color paint scheme. It was repainted again, now red, in 1987.
Tailspinner was temporarily removed from Worlds of Fun in 1997. It returned in 1998, now in a new location within the park, renamed Octopus, and with new cars. The ride remained here until it was removed in 2014, after which time it was sent to Valleyfair to be used as spare parts for Monster.[1]
