Whalom Park was a trolley park in Leominster, Massachusetts, USA that opened in 1893 and closed in 2000. As a trolley park, Whalom Park was the creation of the Fitchburg & Leominster Street Railway company as a means to promote ridership on their lines. The park sat largely abandoned following its closure until final demolition occurred in 2006.[1][2][3]

History

Whalom Park suffered a series of natural disasters that resulted in massive damage throughout the years. However, damage was repaired and sections were rebuilt throughout the years. It also suffered a massive fire in the late 1930's requiring rebuilding.[4][5][6][7]

2020s

An initiative to rebuild Whalom Park in a new location comes about through community initiatives. It includes a museum and organization known as New Whalom Park.
