X-Flight is a steel winged roller coaster located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, USA. Built in 2012, it is the second Wing Coaster to open in the United States after Wild Eagle at Dollywood and is the park's thirteenth roller coaster.

History

On September 1, 2011, it was announced that X-Flight would be coming to Six Flags Great America.[1]

Vertical construction began in January 2012.[2]

X-Flight opened to the general public on May 16, 2012.[3]

Design

Elements

X-Flight, following the pre-drop, begins with a half-barrel roll, leading into the main drop upside down.

Trains

2 trains with 8 cars per train. Riders are arranged 4 across in a single row for a total of 32 riders per train.
